The Understudy

I have to admit that, sometimes, I crack me up. I'll let out the sort of giggle that suggests one of the many voices people assume run rampant in my head is having a little too much fun. There may or may not in fact be voices running rampant in my head, by the way... but that's a post for another day.

I had that sort of giggle when I added Burton's photo to the list on my "about me" page. He's part of the family now after all...

The next day, I received the following in an email:

"Some day, Burton will be centertage and the crowds will love him. Or he'll become the evil understudy... It's a possibility if he becomes too vain, you know."

I'd never taken that into consideration, so I appreciate the warning.

Then again, I'm not so sure the crowds love me.

Be honest... is Burton one sexy badass mother effer of a plant, or what?

I know! I think so too - which probably just increases the odds of him becoming vain.

Yes, these are the thoughts that keep me up at night.

Well, I suppose it's really a combination of the thoughts and the voices...

NOTE: Two updates since I originally posted this. #1: That page has long since been updated, restyled and updated again. In the process, the photos were removed. That's probably for the best since, due to a repotting mishap, Burton is now Vanessa.
