It's beginning to look a lot like the apocalypse. If you're in Portland, anyway. Seriously... this town must have somewhere around ten snow plows. Total.
It cracks me up how easily a little snow practically shuts this town down.
I grew up in Pennsylvania. We had plows, salt, cinders, sand, shovels, snowblowers and more. These things were a reality of winter in the Pocono mountains. I suppose the same is true for those who live in the Cascades... but here in the city?
No. Frigging. Way.
I tried to walk from my apartment to Safeway yesterday and I almost fell on the sheet of ice that used to be a sidewalk. That's especially bad since I live in an apartment ABOVE THE SAFEWAY! I didn't even have to walk one city block, and I barely made it that far.
Anyway... this post isn't supposed to be about the snow. It's about Christmas music. I hope you enjoy the playlist.

Have you heard Neko Case's cover of "Christmas Card from a Hooker in Minneapolis"? It's my new favorite for the season. Of course, I can't listen to it that much as it is depressing as all get out, but it's still my new favorite :-)

Ooh, I don't know that one. I'll have to look for it. I love depressing as all get out - unless I'm the one being told to get out, since that's even more depressing than your standard depressing as all get out.
