I bought a Nikon D90 nearly a month ago. Needless to say, I'm really enjoying it.
Last weekend, I met up with a group of people from Flickr for a photo walk that led us to a spot under the Freemont Bridge. This was my first time meeting up with a group of photographers, and I found myself surprised by two things. First, I was surprised by how welcoming the group was. Secondly, I was surprised by the photos I took.
I seem to take better photos when I head out with someone rather than when I'm by myself. That pattern held true when I was with the group last weekend.

Here's the entire batch. Again, click any for a larger view. You can use your arrow keys to go from photo to photo (or click the buttons).
Here are a few photos from under the Freemont Bridge.
That last one is looking up at the underside of the on-ramps on the west side of the bridge. It doesn't look like anything in particular, but I really enjoy the look of it.
If the weather holds, I'm headed out for another group photo walk today. We'll see how that goes.

Park bench photos are my favorites in this set, but not as hot on the captions. What about "Sittin' on My Park Bench"? Well, maybe you are not into Jazz Rap... ;)

Jazz Rap? Is there such a thing? I thought Welcome To The Cheap Seats was a perfect title :)
It's a song by The Wonder Stuff from their album Never Loved Elvis. It's one of my 90s guilty pleasure CDs.
========================
Laugh when he jokes,
slap him when he chokes.
It's time to give up the smokes.
And ohh when he cries
don't wipe his eyes,
take the wine from the swine,
and remind him of his crimes.
Imagine his surprise
when he opened his eyes,
and I'd run the lawnmower over his thighs.
Imagine the disturbance,
at the time of the occurance,
when his life became a burden,
and we laughed at his cries.
Welcome to the cheap seats,
where your life's seen through cracked spectacles.
